    Hi
Since I have been using an external dvd drive(dvd writer) my internal dvd drive in my computer in not reading dvd's any more it reads about one film in every ten or so.

when I back up dvd's I have to use my external drive is this normal? or should I be able to use both drives?

    cheers

Yeah you should be able to use both drives. Does Nero "see" both drives? Is there a drop down menu when you go tyo burn that shows you the drive being burned to? You should be able to choose either drive. Maybe the internal drive is just going bad?

I ran into this problem a few times when I got my new external burner. What fixed it for me is using the internal dvd drive to burn to the HD (while the external is powered off) then when burning to HD is complete turn on the external and burn to disc. It seems stupid, but I swear it worked for me.
