I have been trying to author a file in DVD Lab and as far as video goes, I have that covered. However, the audio formats that it supports is .mpa or .m2a. I have an .mp2 file which I retained several different ways. However, DVD Lab tries to transcode the .mp2 to an .mpa and every time I try to do this it gets about 3/4 of the way through and ends the program. Is there another program out there that would transcode my .mp2 to an
.mpa or .m2a. Is there a streaming recorder that records straight to one of these formats? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

TMPGENC with TooLame and SSRC will allow you to convert mp2 to mpa.

Both of them are listed in http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vcd_to_dvd-r.cfm

Half way down it will explain how to make it mpa if its not already, with my version of tmpgenc it automatically made it mpa.
