I'm having some minor issues with DVD movies that I have backed up using DVDxcopy 1.31 Sometimes the PS2 doesn't boot them and it's got me stumped because mine is fitted with the Messiah modchip. V7 PS2 US console. Any ideas? Thanks

Do you press Reset twice (2x) fast ?

Yeah I've tried that but some movies won't boot. For example, I just backed up the movie Mr. Deeds using DVDxcopy and the burn went fine at 1x. I put it in my PS2 turned the console off with the reset button and then clicked the reset button twice rapidly. The PS2 boots up fine but then it acted like it was reading the DVD disc then it went to the reading disc screen then I got the RED screen. It's weird because all of my other movies work.

What about the media you used for Mr Deeds ?
Is it an other brand than you did use before ?

The other backups (movies) boot/play just fine ?

I am using Princo 1x media for my movie backups. On a few of the movies I used some Maxell 2x certified DVD-r's and with those I have no problems at all. I reckon it could be the media, but I only had 10 of the 2x Maxell's so all the other movies are on Princo discs and I know they're not the best brand.

But the other backups with the exception of Mr. Deeds work well

So what I read is some Princo DVD-r boots and some won't !??!

Because I heard also about Princo not working smoothly !
I guess you should stick to the Maxell

Yeah I think that's what I'm going to do. They're more expensive, but you get what you pay for with media of any type it seems :) I'm waiting on some Ritek G4 4x dvd-r's and hopefully they'll work good hehe

In some other threads I read Ritek was good quality media.
I myself use Platinum DVD+r and even DVD+rw.
I also used HP DVD+r and DVD+rw and Verbatim DVD+r. I now stick with the Platinum, they allways work fine and are the cheapest.

Btw I sent you an PM...

I figured out the problem. I tried using DVD Decrypter to re-read the burned disc in file mode so it would select the main movie files and I'm getting a UDF Partition error which probably means the disc burn failed for some reason. Well at least I know nothing is amiss with my ps2. Ok, I'm off to play Rocky :)

How do you burn ps2 dvd based games with dvdxcopy? When i try downloading alchohol and recordnow, it says error 1721, contact your package vendor. Thanks.

So far as I know, DVDxcopy only works with movies.
