so if the disk keeps skipping or freezing it's a dvd+r?

not necessarily because some ps2s can read DVD+Rs meaning that if yours freezes on a dvd+r, then yours can't read them

if you want to know if the dvd is a dvd+r, either you can check the top of the DVD to see if it says DVD+R(most obvious).

Or you can use some type of burning program to check if the dvd is dvd+R (wont show that most likely if the dvd is closed)

thanks for the quick reply... i just made a back up of one of my movies on a dvd-r and it errors out, it does play fine on my puter though... i think the other one is on a dvd+r, it plays but it starts to skip and eventually freezes, but, it's always @ the same part of the movie, could it be a bad backup? i have the model 1 ps2, it has the neocube, i don't know what modchip is in there... how can i make it to play the back up dvd's?

what speed r u burning the movies?

burn it at the lowest possible speed (1x) for the least number of errors.

also, what program are u using to burn the movies?

the ps2 doesn't really like 8x media, and burning at 8x makes it even worse.

i have memorex dvd-r 8X & Fuji DVD+R 8X. So I burn @ 2X instead of 8X? which do i use, the -r or +r? As for the PS2 games, i use nero to burn the .iso, .cue files, etc... do i burn them the same, 2X? And how do i play them on my PS2?

    thanks!

burn it onto the dvd-r media at the lowest speed possible

use dvd decrypter to rip the movie to your HD

then use dvd shrink to compress the dvd

then use nero to burn the movie at the lowest speed possible
