dvd on pc problems with sound distortion help please

    i have had this pc for 5 months and burned nearly 200 movies and been fine but recently i noticed the speed of copying and buring take 2 times as long and the burn speed stays at 1.7 or so it use to stay at 3.7-4 using the same dvdrs anyway i went to try to fig what is wrong and i play my mvoies and CD's using the drive the sound is distorted using every program i have it is a phiilips dvdrw+ drive does anyone know a fix? the video is fine but sound is distroted tryed 5 programs they all do it even shirnk any help would be GREAT thxs btw burning movies seem fine just takes forever now =(

    Im kinda new at this , maybe check the DMA. I had the same prolem w/ my drive. I turned the DMA on and it fixed it. hope this helps.

    Try cleaning the DVD lens. Make sure your drivers and direct X are all up to date for your audio card. As far as your burning times being slower than before you need to check your DMA settings for your drive. http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/DMA.html

    im not having problems with the hard drive but with the dvd rw drive with the dma fix my dvdrw problem?

    Yes your DVD ROm drives should be set up as DMA if available also..

    how do a check my dvd rw drives dma?

    but i dont see anything to do for about fixing sound for a cd/dvdrw drive are u sure that will work and btw it says dma alrdy
