How can I tell if a PS2 or XBox game is DVD Based or CD Based?
Thank you for your help.
it will say on the outside of the cover or game. a big ol' PLAYSTATION 2 logo should be thier if it's a playstaton 2 game
I think it’s commonly perceived that if it has a dark-blue/black bottom surface it is CD. If it is silver it is DVD.
if you drop it into a dvd drive on a computer...
< 1 gig == cd
1-4.7 gig == dvd
> 4.7 gig == dvd9 (dual layer)
I believe the vast majority of PS2 games are dvd. Some more recent might be dvd9, but there are only a handfull.
Most would be true but their are some PS2 games that have silver bottoms and are under a gig.
Example: Alien vs. Predator>> aorund 700mb This is a PS2 game but it recognized as a cd not dvd.
Explain your math.
How is a 4.7 a dvd9 (dual layer)
And how can you get a gig on a cd that's no higher than 700mb
It also says on the game if its cd or dvd.
Yes Sly ... that is exactly the first thing that Geestar told me. And how can you go wrong if it is indicated CD or DVD right on the box and the game itself. Thanks Geestar and Sly.
Explain your math.
< 1 gig == cd --> [less than 1 gig] ... account for some situations where CDs can creep past the 700 mark, and dvd's reaching into the lower end. i guess < 700mb would be most accurate. i like margins o error =p
> 4.7 gig == dvd9 (dual layer) --> > means greater than.
How about you just look on the disc and if it says compact disc it a, well compact disc (CD, dur). and if it says DVD then its a DVD. They don't make it hard to tell the differnce, why the need for a topic?
And all xbox games are on dvd.
non calculated with the summ of 700mb = 1'000mb to a gigabite is way off. can't be done! reformulate that
if the bottem is silver its a dvd if the bottems blue its a cd there
Im through with this thread. Have fun guy's
