I installed a Liteon DVD play on my computer, running Windows XP, and I'm also using powerdvd software that came with the dvd player. But everytime I tried to play any dvd, the computer system freezes, and I usually have to restart the system. I bought the dvd player new at a computer show, and the seller is no longer in business. Any solution please?

It's most likely something with your hardware configuration...
How did you configure the hardware... what cable and which connector on the cable did you set the dvd rom to ?

Which pins did you set the jumper to on the dvd rom ?

Do you have another cd/dvd drive on the computer?

Is the DMA mode enabled ?

What is the model number and brand of your board ? etc

Also, have you tried uninstalling the drive from the device manager, reboot and let windows pick it up again?
