Hello, I'm thinking of getting a DVD player, and i was wondering whether they're any out there that could play computer files. I download movies off the net and instead of recording them as DVD's onto a DVD+R disc, I've taken about 6 or 7 movies in .avi or .mpeg format and recorded them on one DVD+R disc. These work on computer DVD players with no problem, is there any stand alone players that can offer this same advantage. Thanx for the help.
I have apex model 2500 not sure if this model is still made but i have burned mpeg 1 and 2 just as .mpeg player shows folder and files and plays them fine. never tried uncompressed .avi becouse file size is so big. Seems like I tried .avi compressed as divx It did not like that. Kinda curious now if it would play mpeg4 files. That seems to be the compression of choice for these new PVR's. Spacedust..
