Hey guys. I'm a newbe here and I'm living in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I just had a Matrix Infinity modchip put in my son's brand new Slim PS2. The technician said not to use any movies I've backed up on DVD+R (with DVD Decryptor & DVD Shrink) and to only use games backed up on "RIDATA" media,( I think it's a Brazilian brand) because the laser on the v12 is very sensitive and using inferior media could do damage to the laser.WHAT ? Has anyone heard anything like this ? Sounds crazy to me. Please tell me I'm not nuts and he is.Thanks.

if he used the 'Laser Protect Fix' you should be fine. i have the same mod chip and been using it for a few months now. i use ritek disks. used a couple of cheap media and didn't have any problems. but i'm playing it safe now and i'm sticking to ritek.
