I would like to know: Which type of dvd is normally used for the ORIGINAL DVD movies?
Is it dvd-R, dvd+R or another type of dvd?

    Thanks

thanks for the info. What is it called?
Is it just called 'dvd movie', or is there a technical term for it?

What about CD? Are the original music CD "pressed", as opposed to "burned"? I have a very old CD player which always plays original/factory CD, but hardly plays back-up copies in CD-R.
