    I am using a DVD+/-RW SOHW-1633s to burn.
dvdx copy platium to do the burning.
I've tried three times to make a copy and all three times it starts to write then fails. I am using Sony dvd-r disk when it fails. If I use a HP dvd+rw disk it works just fine.I did this two times and it always does a complete burn when using the ho dvd+rw disk.
I did a complete b/u of my photos (3.4gig)to the Sony dvd-r disk with no problem.HELP!!! Tom. txs.

    1) Try installing an aspi layer

    http://forceaspi18.w.interia.pl/
download both force 1.8 and aspi check ... and save it (this site goes down alot0

    or

    http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/frcaspi.cfm

    2) The newest versions are v4.0.3.8 or v4.0.4.15RF(you must have a RF license to get).
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/99636
End of my post are the download links

    3) If those don't work, post future XCopy questions in aD's XCopy forum: http://dvdxcopy.afterdawn.com

    4) Try DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter (both free)

Flip, I followed your instructions and installed force 1.8 aspi check. They loaded just fine. I checked with aspi check as you said and it looked fine. Even Neros aspi check showed it. I also updated dvdx copy to 4.0.3.8 (txs.for the link) I removed my dvd burner and reinstalled it just incase the driver was corrupted. To make a long story short ,I get the same results.I'm running xp pro sp2. and have nero version 6 loaded. Do you think it is possiable that the program doesn't like the Sony disk? Any more suggestion would be greatly appreciated. txs. Tom

That would be wierd. Can you backup to a -R using DVD Shrink?

And, is your burner's firmware up to date?

I should have said compatiblity problem with sony dvd-r. I tried using TDK dvd+r and had no problem. Check liteon site ,no firmware or driver updates available.I think the next thing to try is removing nero to see what happens.I'll post the results.
