I know DVD+R is a more stable format in general when burned then DVD-R.
    So i would naturaly choose the + dvd's over - dvd's.
But what format would work best on a PS2??
Are there issues with DVD-R versus DVD+R??
I even loaded a DVD+RW faultless on my PS2 but one game is not the other.
Would i have lesser problems (if they should become apperent) with other DVD formats?

Use Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or Maxell.

-R for old fat PS2s, +R for slims.

Sometimes RW will work, usually it won't. Even if it does work, it's putting a more than usual amount of stress on the laser, thus shortening it's life (as do low quality -R or +R discs).

Can DVD+R's, on PS2 slims, be burned just like that though? No need for booktyping them?

In the 5 years that I've been backing up my games, I've never booktyped and never had a problem.
