Whenever I try to put movies onto a DVD+R it always says the file is too big for the cd. Any suggestions?

What software are you using to rip/compress the movie, what burning software are you using and what movie are you trying to back up? More info about your problem would help.

Firstly, i presume you dont mean CD, and in fact mean DVD> Secondly, you cant put avi onto a DVD disc. You will need to convert it to MPEG2 and then structure it in VOB/IFO/BUP format for DVD playback.

Hi, you would use a program called TMPGEnc to convert to mpeg2. It may take a good 6 hours. Then you would use another program called TMPGEnc DVD Author to create the structure, shoudl take about 30mins.

I believe you can get both programs on the website in my signature.
