DVD rewriter doesn't recognise blank discs anymore

    I have a NEC DVD+RW 1100a and it worked fine until a few days ago.It can still read normal discs and will play DVD fine.But when i put a blank disc in to work with it just doesn't acknowledge it as being there.I have tried a few different discs so I'm sure its not that.Does anyone know of a reason for this.
    I would greatly appreciate any help

    I too have a NEC ND-1100A. I use DVDxPress and when upgrading from version 3.0.2 to 3.2.1, I now have the same problem. Tech support said to unistall the update and use the older version. Old version works fine. Don't know if this is the same problem you have.

    I didn't upgrade anything at all.It was working just fine.Then when I tried to burn a cd on it it didn't want to know.Guess it just gave up on me

    Upgrade the firmware. If its just given up on you, you haven't nothing to lose!
