    I use DVD Shrink 2.3 to copy DVD-9 discs of Farscape and Andromeda episodes to 1 DVD-R. However, sometimes DVD Shrink doesn't recognize the 2nd episode on each disc. I use the following procedures to copy:

    DVD Decrypter --> ISO Read
    Mount the ISO
    DVD Shrink 2.3
    Nero --> Burn

    Troubleshooting steps:

    DVD Decrypter --> File mode to see which VOBs have the episodes. Then switch to IFO mode to see if the same VTS shows up. As I expected, the second VTS that contains the 2nd episode doesn't show up in IFO mode.

    I guess DVD Shrink reads VIDEO_TS.IFO to anaylze the disc so the 2nd episode is missing. So I open DVD Shrink to read the specific IFO that the 2nd episode is on. It said it was an "invalid IFO" "The reason is: Unknown." ... Not helpful.

    Please help. Thanks.

    For the umpteenth time I've seen this - you don't need to use Decrypter with DVD Shrink!. Sorry mate but try analysing, ripping, and re-encoding the disc direct since DVD Shrink does it all in one.

    Just to clarify:

    I use one the following steps:

    DVDdecrypter
    DVD2one
    Then my burning software

    or

    DVDshrink
    Then my burning software

    I haven't tried the new DVDshrink yet, but so far people seem to like it.

    I can vouch for updated DVD Shrink

    I did as [bold]Discmania [/bold] explains above (used http://dvdrhelp.com/ guide)...and I was backing up a DVD that neither Smartripper/DVD2One or DVD Decrypter/DVD2One combo's couldn't handle.

    [ The fussy DVD in question ? It was 'The Long Good Friday' w/ Bob Hoskins,Helen Mirren etc ]
