Hey guys, I just installed a dvd drive/burner into my moms dell 8400. We have windows xp. The burner is an lg h22l dvdrw with lightscribe.

I installed shrink and dvdfab. I went to use shrink and i got an I/O device error. I went over to FAB i though it was css protected, and that errors out as well. I found some drivers for the dvd burner and installed them but that didnt fix it.

Where do i go from here?

    Thanks,
    Ron

    Lastest firmware v1.02
    What was the error?

Can you read any retail disks with the drive?

DVD shrink encountered and error and cannot continue

Failed to read the file "D:\"

The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

The movies seem to play just fine using powerdvd.

You might try AnyDVD or Ripit4 me or rip it to a folder w/ Decrypter.
    Then try Shrink.

Like I said earlier, DVD FAB decrypter gets an error as well and doesnt work. It seems like decrypter errors every 30 seconds and i can hit ignore if i want, or ignore all. But its making it take like 3 times longer than it should.
