I used DVD Shrink in the usual way last night and it stated that there was a ‘region mismatch’ and that I will only be able to change the region code 3 more times……

Is there a reason this may have happened? I did play a region 1 disc recently, whereas all my others are region 2…is this problem??

If I rip the DVD’s using Shrink and do not try and play the original in my PC, will this stop the region change??

I only use the ripped discs to play on my standalone DVD player.

Is there something in Shrink that ignores the regions?

Your dvd burner can play different region dvds. Usually it can be changed 5 or so times. Everytime you put a different region dvd in your burner your number of changes decreases by one. You said you only have 3 left. To bypass this you can run dvd43 in the backround and the burner should't detect the different region. When you encode with Shink be sure the region free option is checked
