I have been using dvd shrink for about a year now and as of last week the audio files aren't being put into a folder. Therefore it makes the dvd no good. The audio files are there though. I am using Sonic Record Now to burn. Appreciate any suggestions.

are you sure you are not unchecking the audio?

What other apps are you using with shrink?

i meant when using shrink, are you unchecking the audio?

you could try imgBurn and see if sonic is the problem

are you only using shrink by itself?

It's supposed to make an audio file and a video file, but it puts them both in the video file and when I burn, the dvd doesn't play, I get an error on the dvd player.

    What's ISO?

I can't duplicate this error. What were you doing when you got it? Have you tried removing and reinstalling Shrink?

Here's an overview of the Shrink/ImgBurn process.

Download and install ImgBurn. Make sure the program will open. If it does, then close it. You don't need it yet.

    Open Shrink.
Open the DVD you want to copy. (Note: Shrink cannot work with DVDs that have the newer encryptions which include most Sony and Disney DVDs.)
So try it with an older DVD. If you are familiar with Shrink, then you know enough to leave an audio stream in. Leave the AC3 5.1-ch checked.
    Remove unneeded subpictures.

    Select "Backup!"
On the Target Device tab, set "Select backup target" to...

    Create ISO Image file:
    ISO image file

    It should look like this:

This "ISO Image" is what ImgBurn uses and needs to burn. It is very similar to the video files. It is just a different format of the data on the original DVD.
Take note that you have to "Select target image file". This is the folder you want Shrink to put the ISO in.

Once you are satisfied with the settings, click OK to start the process. Shrink will create the ISO image in the target folder.

Shrink tells you where the ISO is when it's done... In case you forgot:

Once done, close Shrink and open ImgBurn.
Put your blank in the burner and let it get spun up.
    Select the "Write" mode:

Click the browse button and then find the ISO Shrink made:

    Click it to select:

    Here it is in ImgBurn:

    Select your burner here:

Set your burn speed to 1/2 the rated speed of the blank media. 4X is usually fine:

All that's left is to start the process, click the green arrow and ImgBurn will burn your DVD.

All of this is assuming you can get ImgBurn installed correctly. Also if you are trying to do movies with newer encryptions, you have more to do. I'll suggest DVDFab Decrypter because it is free and easy for beginners.

Open the movie in this program and burn it to a folder. Then open Shrink and use "Open Files". Proceed as usual.

Hey thanks, I got Ice age to burn. That error got corrected by checking for img burn updates. I will try shrinking into the iso format also.

Thank you so much, both of you!!

OK, hopefully this will be it....I backed up in the ISO file, but when I burned the picture was all tiled. Also when I try to shrink some movies, I get error code: Dvd shrink encountered an error and cannot continue Failed to read file "D:\" Data error (cyclic redundancy check) do you know why?

that error is probably a scratch on the dvd which is causing that read error, or it could be copy protection too.

You should not use shrink by itself especially for newer dvds, as shrink cant handle the copy protections on them, plus the structure problems too.

so its better to Rip to the HDD then use shrink and so on.
DVDFab(free) is one of the best rippers out there

Here is a complete guide from rip to burn very easy

No can't copy/paste. But it says:

DVD Shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue.

    Failed to read file "C:\Documents and Settings\Angie\Desktop\dvds ripped\Full Disc\CINDERELLA2\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB"

    Invalid access to memory location.
