I am burning backups to my harddrive with dvd decrypter then to -R with dvd shrink. In some of my movies, the dvd option for what looks like mutliangle appears for a few minutes at the top of the screen and then disappears (on my pioneer it is a horizontal blue line with a little white movie camera). It does this on and off throughout the movie. I tried reburning the movie to an rw and had the same problem. Can performing video compression in shrink confuse a dvd player, perhaps making it think there are multiple angles? Is there anyway I can fix this?

The way I'd get around that is to use DVD2One for that project and select only 'Angle 1' in the options (hope that helps)

    :)

The problem is I don't think the movies have multiple angles (i.e. they are not porn). A good example is inspector gadget. The original disk plays without a problem but not the backup.

I suggest now trying the back up in another stand alone DVD player then as it could be just your Pioneer DVD player that does it (possibly).
Especially if there are no other angle choices on these DVDs you mention...

I've never (good few yrs now) had that problem of angle icon appearing in top of on-screen picture :S
