Have winxp sp2 on a new dell laptop. With a NEC DVD burner. Installed the latest Nero Burner 6.0 and DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 after dvd shrink copies the movie to the HD it cannot write it on the blank dvd, get error that is does not support it. Have used both a 4x dvd and a the new 8x dvd. Nothing.
Have a win2k desktop with the same Nero Burner software and DVD Shrink and everything is ok. It copies the same movie just fine on both the 4x and the 8x dvd.
Is it something that microsoft did on the new sp2 update?

DVD Shrink does not have the ability to burn. You have to use another program like Nero or DVD Decrypter. If you are going to use DVD Decryter you need to set Shrink to output to an ISO image file. You can set Shrink to use Nero or Decryter to burn after the backup file has been created, but Shrink will not burn on it's own. Check your preference settings on Shrink there is an option to "enable buring with Nero". Read the guides they will tell you step by step.

What is the actual error message you are getting?
From the small description of your error it sounds like you may be trying to use the wrong type of media as in +/-R for the burner on your laptop. While we're at it, what type of media are you using and what model burners are we using?
