I have XCopy but it always seems to be glitch or something going on every now and again. How much better or easier is DVD Shrink. I never heard of it until I was reading the post on this site. Just wanted to see before I make the switch.

I just wanted to know is there other software options besides XCopy that I can use to back up my dvds that I purchase. I guess I am starting new because I am getting new burner because I still can't get the laser calibration error to leave. So I am getting a new burner/drive and I am looking into getting new software because I don't know what caused this error and I don't want it to happen again.

    I'm not a big fan of "321" studios stuff beit X-copy /Express/Platinum

Your best bet is rip with dvd decrypter
compress with DVD2One/DVDSrink - I;ve not used shrink but going by the forum its on par with dvd2one or better depending on who speaks to ya.

If yer a newbie stick with DVD2one as three cicks and youve got a movie small enough to fit on one disc .

To burn You could use recordnow max - Good Software.

Or Copy 2DVD as this runs parallel with dvd2one so you can burn N rip the dvd in one process I just go leave mines for 40 mins and its compressed N burnt !!!

I didn;t have any probs with RecordNow Max its just I can leave my pc to do its thing with DVD2One +Copy2DVD.
