I'm hearing a lot of talk these days about people burning DVD games onto CDR format - is this for real? How is this possible ?

The only way I can think of it being done is using a compression technique - which in turn lowers game quality (I'm assuming).

Anyone with any info out there on the topic - please share what you know on the topic!!!

You take out movie , or music files of the game that take up alot of space , but dont effect game play, and replace them with dummy files that are alot smaller. Its called a dvd rip.

i've heard this as well, and although i've looked through tutorials and read through the forums, i can't find exactly how to do this. i have a dvd-r drive, but not a dvd burner, so i can only copy to my HD and back to a cd-r. does anyone know if there's a tutorial for doing just that? thanks in advance.
