ok, well if you want to turn your dvd's into divx (the most popular format) you will need
    DVD Decrypter (afterdawn.com)
    DVD to DivX (http://download.com.com/3000-7970-10190371.html?tag=lst-0-6)
    DivX 5 codec (http://download.com.com/3000-2139-10247467.html?tag=lst-0-1)
first, use dvd decrypter to save the dvd to your hard drive, then use DVD to DivX as follows:
    1. Click the pic of a disk
    2. Open the place where all the dvd files you saved are
    3. Select the longest title and click "ok"
    4. A window will come up with lots of advanced option, these are fine so click "ok"
    5. It may say something abou ASPI here if so just click yes
    6. open the video otput settings icon at the bottom (a pic of a video strip"
    7. click "video pass 1" on the top left hand side of this window a list of codecs will come up, selct DivX 5
    8. in the middle of the right hand side of this window it will say "volume dont exeed" then selct the media size (probibly 74 min VCD)
    9. Click apply
    10. Click the folder icon by the video icon and select where you wnat the video to be saved to (browse)
    11. press record and it will startv savind your movie
    12. you can do whatever you wnat with the movie now it is in .avi format

    Hope that helps! :)
