I am presently interested in purchasing a DVD burner, but I am not sure which to get for backing up ps2 games.

I have been looking into pioneer and lg ones, but if there are others people recommend, that would be great. I have also seen a Toshiba model that is quite cheap, which is only - format and not dual.

Any recommendations? My ps2 is a v7-8. I am hoping to find something somewhat affordable and that is relatively easy to install/manage. And if I were to go with LG, which one? 4040b/4081b, as well as Pioneer 05/06/07...

    Thanks!

I don't think it really matters which burner you have, brand of media used is more important. I have a pioneer and my brother has a nec and they both work every single time for ps2 games and dvd movies.

It doesn't really matter. If your looking for speed, get a Plextor PX-708A, it runs around $200 on Ebay. I burn all my PS2 games at 2x because that seems to work all the time, so speed doesn't really matter to me. If I were you I would get a Pioneer DVR-107 for $150.
