i tried installing a dvd game and part way through it came up with a data cyclical error. After that my dvd writer disappeared and when i try to reinstall it it fails. It goes through the process of recognising new hardware but cant go any further than searching for drivers for which it cant find any. Does anyone know how to set the drivers back to the orignials coz im guessing that the ones i was using are now corrupted. Any help would gratefully be appreciated
ive tried this but it hasnt seemed to do anything, not sure if i will just have to reinstall windows to get the standard drivers back.
Have you updated the firmware for your drive? Take a look here it may inform you somewhat! http://www.softwarepatch.com/tips/cyclic-redundancy.html Also, what is the make of writer?
its a ricoh dvd writer mp5420a its about 2 years old, i also tried installing a friends dvd player and it couldnt install that so im guessing the drivers are definately missing or currupt
