    Yea Mitch,

    ispy is correct,
You'd better modify/remove that URL with the quickness.
Forum rules forbid cracks. You'd better read b4 posting.

Ispy, Thanks for the headsup on the downed sites.

I have the same problem as "stlbudguy", and neither of the 2 URLs will work for me, although they might be down for moment? Acutally, I have been trying for sometime now.

BTW, I have been using shrink, and decrypter with great sucess, however, my average speed is about 1500 KB/s, which appears to be REALLY SLOW?

My config is, AMD 2800, 512DDR, Lite-on DVDRW 8x, Liteon DVD/ROm (fast). I have defraged my harddrive with Diskkeeper, and have almost nothing running.

    Any ideas, to both questions

Check device manager that DMA is enabled. Heres how.

Go to Device manager> IDE ATAPI controllers>
Check the 1st and secondary IDE controller. One at a time, please.
    This is how.
Double click the 1st IDE controller, now under the advanced tab,
be sure the transfer mode is at DMA if available.
If not, change it to that.
Do the same for the 2nd controller.
Then reboot. Now check and see that it took by going back into Device Manager.
If this doesnt change the transfer mode to DMA, then you will have to uninstall the IDE controllers.
Right click the IDE controllers and left click uninstall.
Also uninstall your burner using the same method, right click the burner and left click uninstall.
You can do this for both. Then reboot. Xp will automatically reinstall them and this should fix the slow burn issue.

Does anyone know how to check what speed your burner is burning at? I am using my DVD X-COPY PLATINUM, thanks to your help :), and it seems to be running S L O W. I have a Buslink (Liteon) DVRW812D Recorder that's supposed to burn at 8x, I'm using 4x DVDs, but it takes almost an hour once the burning starts.
Thanks in advance, you guys rule.

    Hairyhaus,
A very good programme is DVDInfopro,it can be used to speed test your burner, gives info on disc manufacturer, burnt speed ect,Look on the software tab on this site.
    Cheers ispy

    321sucker,

Thanks for the help, and reply. I should have mentioned that I had already checked for DMA, and both are set to that. Oh, my burner is an 8x speed, and I am using 4x Ridata G04 -R DVD's.

My foremost problem is activating my DVDXCOPY PLat, and the URL, http://www.nycsoftware.com/dvdxcopy/support/faq/activate.htm
does not seem to work for me, when I select "Activate Your Product" it does nothing, except blink, anyone else having this problem, maybe it is just my browser?

    TIA,

    Rich

    sytyguy,
When you click on "activate your product" follow the instructions on the right hand side of the screen, which ever is appropriate to your product,ie on disc with ID and password or downloaded and email confirmation.Good luck.

    ispy,

Thanks for the suggestion, but as I mentioned, whenever I click on the "activate your product", the screen goes nowhere, in other words, there is nothing to type in. I even tried to right click it and open it in another window, and I still get the same page.
It could be my browser if it works for you, but I cannot figure it out.

    hairyhaus,

Within Device manager, try uninstalling the burner, deleting the IDE driver, rebooting and allowing ME to reinstall them both. Also, be certain that you have the most current drivers for your Mainboard and all OS updates from Microsoft if supported. What are your system specs?

    sytyguy,
What you need to do is with your Xcopy installed, launch the programme and you will get the activation screen come up for the first time, then follow the instructions that I mentioned on the right side of the page that your refering to,print out that page so you can follow the steps, just clicking on "activate your product" does not activate it,it only brings up the instructions.

    ispy,

For some reason that did not work for me (321 rejected it), however, I did get it activated by activating it from another computer(my old computer, that is sort of working), viola, I am now activated.

Many thanks for all the help.

    321sucker,

I did not read the proper line in Device Manager, so when I re-checked a third time, it said PIO. Changed it to DMA, re-booted, and now am running at 4700KB/s

    Many thanks to all,

    Rich

Flip, sorry haven't been in here for a while.
With Platinum I am unable to split disks, the first one seems to work ok, but the second one doesn't either burns nothing or only one chapter.
I have tried several times, both manually splitting and using the auto option, I can never get it to work.
