    Hey,

    My friend overseas is having problems with different zoned dvds in the us...(he is from new zealand).
    his message to me is below;

    I am having some difficulties extracting the full benefits of my new laptop (Dell Latitude D600).

    The key issue is the DVD player which is currently set to Zone 1. In order to watch the DVD's I brought from New Zealand, I will have to reset the Zone but will want to be able to change this back so I can watch DVD's I get over here.

    Now from what I can tell, I can change the region setting in the DVD players properties but I can only do this four times before it is locked.

    please......can anyone help????

    Thanks.

    You do not need to change the region code in the player at all.
    What you need to do is download a program called 'DVDRegionFree' and what this does is fool your player into thinking it can play all region DVD's.
    It does not change the region code of your player, so you need not worry about that.
    I have been using this program for a year or so and it works great.
    It comes on automatically when you insert a disc to play.
    Give it a go, you will love it.

    Go to www.dvdidle.com and you will see DVDRegionFree+CSS and there is a free trial as well.

    No, the site that is saying here isn't it.
    Just do a search for DVDRegionFree+CSS and you will find it.
