Hope this is not a stupid question but .....
I have heard that some new playstation 2 games use DVD9 (Dual Layer) DVD's. Is this true ? If so, how would any mod chip work with a backup disk if there is no current method to make the backup ? I'm assuming that using a DVD9 to DVD5 program wouldn't work as a backup for a DVD9 playstation disk ? Thanks.

there's only a handfull of games that are DVD9. The only way you'd make a backup of those is to rip them manually and make them a DVD9 or fitting them on 2 DVD5 discs.

there is going to be a dvd9 burner soon so maybe with the right chip and a dvd9 burner you could make a complete backup of a dvd9 disc
