This site is very helpful and simple for a newbie like me. But still, I've been all over this site and cannot seem to find a solution to the problem.
I've disabled pathplayer, and I finally got it to recognize the disc. Now It's taking hours and hours to copy onto the hard drive. I've looked into the whole DMA thing and found that the secondary was in pio mode. Switched it to DMA, uninstalled driver, and rebooted, all that and still does the same thing.
I have an inspiron 530 quad processor with only the factory burner drive.
I've used dvdfab a year or two before for hundreds of dvds and recently started burning again. I'm going crazy over here

sorry, just getting back to the desk.
I uninstalled dvdfab a couple years back and just last week reinstalled it with what I thought was the newest version. what I've got is DVDFAB v 8.0.1.5.
I apprieciate the extra thread links. I would never have found those
