hi, not sure what section to post this.

i'm using a laptop with internal dvd rom.

I am trying to rip a dvd. get it local.

69.76% at 17:29 after 22 hours.. some time during it did hit an error and I got a box up abort retry ignore ignore all. I chose retry which got nowhere, then did ignore all.

    It is taking ridiculously long.

claddvd took less than an hour.. or not much more if that..

    dvd smith took 4 hours..

Why so much difference.. and why is dvdfab taking forever?

haven't tried it, was a while ago, clavdvd was fast too but I don't recall how fast. I think the DVD may have had issues

To rip a dvd & not compress it will take 10-20mins if a disc has bad scratches or some other issue it will take longer,if you clicked ignore dvdfab will attempt to read the dvd in which case 17 hours or more is normal as it's trying to recover corrupted data & that can take forever & will usually create choppy playback,if a disc can't be read it's best to abort & use a computer instead preferably with the latest dvd drive as it'll read better much better *winks*

after x amount of retries it will ignore then move to next block, check settings for amount of retries before it ignores either use a comp with a late model dvd burner or borrow a late model external & see if it makes a diff,if it still gets errors abort & use disc as a coaster or get it polished
