    Hi all,

I am in the market to get an xbox and mod it with the xK3y. I know that you have to extract the drive key from the dvd drive before you do anything else. My question is, which xbox dvd drive is the easiest to extract without the use of any extra hardware like the maximus lizard. I know a person who has multiple xboxes and will let me choose.

The last time I had a 360 was years ago and it was a hitachi drive which I just plugged into my computer and extracted the key no problem and then flashed iextreme. Is there any drive in the newer phat consoles that still allow this?

I am also hoping that there is a drive that supports this with hdmi!

most slims excluding the 1175 is very easy to read the key, no tools needed!

BenQ drives would be my choice then, for the LiteOn drives you need extra tools. Problem is: The older the box, the more likely it is to get the RROD.

thanks for the help! I don't mind taking the risk for RROD as I am getting the console for 50 bucks. Benq is what I will be looking for then! Has anybody here used the xK3y vs the wasabi?

They both do the same thing, but most would agree the xkey is more future proof.
