I've noticed that backups I make with shrink don't retain the built in PC players on the original, nor does the cover image or other info come up when playing the backup on the PC. I'm not losing sleep over it but curious as to why this is. This got me to thinking about easter eggs. Are they retained? Is there a way to find out which files they are?

The cover images are actually stored in a separate folder called JACKET_P. My guess is that Shrink doesn't include that folder in the backup, but you should be able to get the images back by just copying that folder to the same directory your VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders from Shrink are. Obviously this means you need to output to files instead of an ISO.

Easter eggs are a different story because they're contained completely in the IFO and VOB files so they should still be there with a full disc backup.
