Hey guys. First off, if i posted this in the wrong section, apologies.

Wondering if i can get some advice on making files TMPG ready.

Right now, i'm using MainConcept to encode my avi and mpeg files to make them compatible with TMPG. I've noticed, however, that using mainconcept tends to make the picture slighty stretched on the aspect ratio. doesn;t matter if i try it on 4:3 or 16:9. it still comes out stretched vertically once run through TMPG.

what i wanted to know is, if there is a better prog out there than MainConcept to use before authoring through TMPG. I've noticed as well, that you loose a certain amount of the picture (especially on 4:3 TV files) when ecodong on MainC.

Perhaps all i'm doing is using it wrong, but any advice you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated...

    thanks
