I have an issue with my dvd encoding. It takes extremely long over an hour, close to 2 hours sometime. I have a friend that has the same thing and they dont have that problem. I have 448 MB of RAM. I dont know if its a problem with the dvd rom itself but it reads at 16x. I currently have dvd shrink and dvd encrypter. Can anyone help me out?

Try making sure that your drive hasn't slipped into PIO mode.

    diamond27 ,
Welcome. You probably have the Quality Enhancement settings in DVDShrink checked and your friend does not. You can uncheck those settings and not use them and now the encoding will be quicker.
Zippyd also makes a very valid point as you want the Secondary IDE Channels to be in DMA Mode

By un-checking both Deep Analysis AND Quality Enhancement you will process everything in less than an hour as long as you are satisfied with a poorer quality backup - If you want speed, don't expect quality -
