Hey Everyone having some issues with My Brand new HpDvd1040i 20x Multiformat Dvd Writer with Lightscribe. I Just Bought this burning a few days ago , and from my under standing This burner just came out this month. I'm Using Nero 7 only because this was the included software.

I've done my research and really can't seem to find a soluation. So I thought I would try this.

**Note**1.DMA is all on 2. Brand New Connections 3. Nero Updated 4. Tried Maxell Dvd+R ,Maxell Cd+R, Memorex+R and HpDvd+R ( Lightscribe)cd's. **Note** ( There is no Updated firmware for my Burner as well)

I Have serveral Logs saying different things So I'll Post one for now.

    Thanks in advance :)

You would think that before HP bundled software with a drive, they would make sure it would work. I found the note below on the Nero site, so perhaps the drive doesn't like being treated as a standard drive.

    http://www.nero.com/nero7/enu/faq_search.php?search=DVD drive&fid=353&s=0

Have you tried just doing a straight burn without the multi-session enabled?

Yes, tried single sessions. It does not seem to work either way. Tried to burn using Windows Media Player to burn a plain CD, and that does not even work.

Will keep trying, but I am not too impressed with HP and the new products they are selling without proper drivers.

just took the jumper pin off the back of the drive.

Is there someplace or someone that can verify what the error codes actually mean? To see if it is the software or the drive itself.
