Hopefully thats not too long :/ I'm fairly new to Nero and I just got this software yesterday. I'm trying to burn a DVD Data Disk and I keep on getting this error (it stops in the middle of burning). It's really annoying and I've gone though 6 DVDs already. Any idea what's going on? I have another thread in the DVD+R burning thread. My Burner is:

    MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-840S

    Thanks.

Your version of Nero is rather old, you may like to update to a later version from here (I use and recommend 7.5.9.0)

    http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/

Latest firmware is available from here
    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2181

You have a lot of memory in use, dont multitask while burning

    Slow your burn to 4X

You have Roxio installed, it clashes with Nero, to remove, run this zapper http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml

Alright, I upgraded my Nero, ran roxio zap, lessened the burning speed to 4x, and closed all my programs when running the burner.

As for the firmware, the 1.04 firmware seems to apply only to Sony VAIO laptops. The 1.03 won't work, and the 1.02 is what I have now.

I downloaded 1.04, but it says that this is the

    F/W Loader for VAIO UJ-840 (and I have a Toshiba M45-165 Laptop.)

I have no programs running, and it asked me to open the disk drive, and I did. After that, it says that F/W Loader does not apply to the DVD/CD-RW drive that you are using. Press exit to continue.

    Then I exit.
