I can't seem to burn my DVDs with Nero, Alcohol, or CloneDVD. Clone DVD just freezes, Nero gives me an error message of "reset occurred, burn failed" Does anyone have the slightest idea what I'm doing wrong here? I'm using a MadDog Megastor 16x. Here's the log from the nero attempt Tom 1A20-0100-0000-1748-7422-8450 1A4C-0800-0000-1278-3505-3952 Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: File 'Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=4.71 (0002), size=45056 bytes, created 7/17/2002 9:20:56 AM ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 10/26/2004 5:35:34 PM Nero version: 6.6.0.3 (Nero Express) Recorder: <MAD DOG MD-16XDVD9> Version: 2.FA - HA 4 TA 0 - 6.6.0.3 Adapter driver: <> HA 4 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ? Have you tried updating your firmware? Here is a link to your burners Firmware page just select your drive and click on the file, save it to your HD and then run the .exe file http://www.maddogmultimedia.com/support/drivers.asp
and no, i cannot burn data dvds, i just tried and I get the same error message. I just doesn't make any sense why it wouldn't even start the burning process at all.
This is strange indeed, but not unusuall. Lets try this, uninstall all your drives [bold]Uninstalling Your Drive(s)[/bold] (1) Go to “Control Panel” (2) Double click on “System” (3) Click on “Hardware” tab (4) Click on “Device Manager” (5) Click on the “+” beside DVD/CD ROM Drives (6) Right click on your first drive (7) Then Click on “Uninstall” (8) Repeat steps 6 & 7 for each drive (9) Then click on the little “+” beside IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers (10) Uninstall all of your IDE controllers in the same manner as described in 6 & 7 above (11) Exit out of Device manager and restart your system (12) Let Windows install your drives automatically See if this work's and let me know
well did all that, but still the exact same message comes up. is there anything else i can try? this is extremely fruststrating. thank you for all your help, I love how on this site people just go out of their way for those they dont even know.
i can read disks fine on the drive and i have daemon tools installed which probably makes it look like i have 4 cd drives. I only have one cd/dvd drive and another cd/dvd writer drive
