Hello all, this is a pretty small problem but each time I open up firefox, my cpu usage goes to 100% and then when I sort the processes by usage, I see that guard.exe is the hog, or explorer.exe

Is there anyway to stop this?

    Thanks

    guard.exe is AVG anti-spywares shield.

Hmmmm, thanks for the reply etzo, but why can't I end the process in task mgr? If I uninstalled AVG would that get rid of it?

    Thanks

Maybe. Also you can try delete it in Safemode, but don't know if it works that way.

Well I uninstalled AVG, (I allready had ewido 4.0) and now there's another process, svchost.exe under the system username. Is there a reason why this takes up so many resources at startup? My cpu usage is at 100% for about 1.5 minutes at start up, even know I am only running 4 programs that start up.
