External dvd burner - looking for driver

    I have recently swithced from a pc to a mac and i had this external mad dog multimedia megastor drive that is 16x and 4x d/l i think it is this model MD-16XDVD9-EXT and the driver cd has a folder that says mac and it has two files and an image file one of the files i think says mac os 9 or and the other is a previous version. The thing is i opened the image file and i get a an error and it doesnt load. I need the new driver of osx tiger and i cant find it on google. What should i do?

    How is it connected to the Mac? Can you read a DVD or CD from it?

    its connected to the mac via USB 2.0 and it doesnt read any cd or dvd
