hi my son brought an external usb hardrive with 50 pre loaded games on from thailand. they claimed the games would play on his ps3 without it being chipped. when we plug it in nothing happens or it says no data but the games are definately on the harddrive when plugged into the computer.does anyone have an idea on how to load these games

What firmware version do you have on your PS3 at the moment?

I'm still in the learning process and was wondering if the PS3 has any region coding on it that would cause the games not to play.I also read that an external drive has to be formatted as a FAT32 to be recoginized on a PS3.Does it matter if the system is PAL,NTSC or SECAM? Just curious and trying to learn something new.
    Thanks.
