hi, it has the ISO but doesnt have the .dvd file. what should i do?
you don't even need it.
Manually set the layer break
tools-->settings-->write-->layer break. Check user specified and set it to 1913760. Click ok and burn as normal. This is only necessary the first time burning a 360 game
Set the booktype to DVD-Rom for all DVD+R DL discs if your burner can do it
then burn it like you would any other 360 game.
The DVD file only tells your burner about 2 things, they layer break (which is always the same). What the ISO file name is (which you already know as it is right there). and that is really it.
so if i have a .dvd on my xbox 360 backup games. burn that instead right? which one should i burn, .dvd or ISO?
either one, it makes no difference other then you manually setting the layer break if you use IMGburn and the ISO.
Either way you are burning the same file (ISO), The DVD file is not burned, it is just a very small text file that tells the burner how to burn the ISO. Open a DVD file with notepad and you will see how little information is in it.
oh k thanks. i am burning a bioshock game now. hope it works..
another thing i wanna ask u, what is this coaster thing peole are talking about, what is that basically?
a coaster means a bad burn like a game or dvd or cd burned bad/wrong and it dont work...
then all you can use it for is a "Coaster"
the word coaster just simply means error on game disc right? and it 's not playable. well i heard rumors saying that memrox dvd+r DL cause the len in the xbox 360 drive to die out quicker, is this true? and is this what they mean by coaster? just wanna straigten few things out. thanks for the info.
yea a coaster is just a bad burn...
and yes memorex is bad media that stresses the laser i wouldn't use it..
i just bought three packs of memerox dvd today, it works fine when i burned them and play flawlessly on my xbox 360 console. cant believe that it will mess up my lense.
just give it a couple of months and see if you still think that memorex dvds will not affect your laser.
Put in the original game and play it and see how hard the drive is working and then put in your memorex backup and listen to it.
Please trust people when they tell you about Memorex (Memosux) discs. It has been a know fact they they are not good media for a long time now. You can see it in about any PS2 or Xbox back up section.
They may work now but trust me, you are just asking for trouble.
does this method work when i have ripped the game because ive tried it before but without typing the layer break in and it didnt work ?
you have to specify the layerbreak or the games wont work.
