   i am trying to extract some winrar files i have downloaded and it says they r corrupt
   any ideas appreciated

   Redownload the corrupted ones.
   There are some repairing tools and even winrar includes one but never have managed to repair a corrupted archive.
   If .sfv is available use it to check the checksum of the files (can locate the corrupted ones).
