Does something exist to tell which format a file is? I have an .rar file and WinRAR tells me invalid archive and will not extract. I used ISObuster which gave me Track 01 and a .TAO extension which no one here seems to know how to handle.

How can I find out what which format the file is please.

    Nephilim, thanks for your reply.

Tried CDMage which detected CDROM type, Single Mode 1 or Mode 2 data track but when it asked me to save the layout to cuesheet it said Image Type is Different than Assumed. Please Select another Type.

Tried opening it with Alcohol 120% and got this: Type:Unknown Size: 698.15MB Session: 1 Track: 1 Address: 000000.

Perhaps this is a file for a MAC and not a PC. Or could this mean the file is corrupt do you know? ISObuster gave me two errors when extracting to TAO format.

I think I need to give up and accept this is going nowhere at this point! :)

What is this an image of? Audio CD? PC game?

    It's a crapshoot with downloaded files :)
