Just wondering what program people backing up Final Fantasy XII have had the best results with?

I made a back up of FFXII using DVD Decrypter burning onto RITEKG05 media but it came out a bit jumpy. What's the best media to use for PS2 game back up's?

I burnt at 4X speed by the way. this rule of one post to every 3 minutes for newbies is gay

Well, SONY DVD-R always worked very well with all of my backups. I've been using TDK DVD-R lately because thats all I have lying around. Which reminds me, I gotta buy some more blanks, I'm running out of them. o_O

Taiyo Yuden and Verbatims always have been the best, but until I can find some in 25pk locally, I won't find the need to buy them. Online? Pfft, I hate paying for shipping.

Burning at 4x is probably the most common burning speed these days, however, I've burnt at 6x and all of my games worked fine. I've burnt games at 1x and recevied unwanted crappy loading times, and 2.4x which turned out okay. Most modern burners these days don't like burning at slower speeds as they are now built for faster burning. Try and burn at 8x, but I do not recommend using for everything, but just try it out for the sake of it.

Well as for the burning speed thing it all depends on your media. A 16x media should be burnt at 8-12x and an 8x media should be burnt at 4x. Rule of thumb is that your media should be burnt at half its rated speed whenever possible. The idea of slower burning speeds is a myth with todays technology. Also as for not liking to pay shipping. You can get packs of Yuden at www.supermediastore.com with free shipping. Its not a special or anything. Im buying my 100 Packs of dvd-r 16x (no cake spindel) at $36.00-USD.
