I would like to watch movies (avi, mp4, etc) using my flash drive connected to my TV's USB port. I understand that the speed of the flash drive will effect playback performance. Is this true? and if so what is the minimum speed (MB/SEC) I should look for in a flash drive? I am assuming I would be looking for Read speed?

usb 3.0 devices would have a faster read & write speed.think tvs only use usb 2.0.i use a sandisk cheap usb for playback sometimes and it works fine or i use an acer 650gb hard drive connected to dvd player through usb and that works fine.

most usb flash drives are usb 2.0 anyway.
