flip-top crisis

    hi I have been using the flip top for a while and have realized that the disks are being incredibly scratched up...the system is having major trouble even bootingh them up!!!The screen just goes black after the insert disk screen.has anyone had any trouble with the flip top in this way??Am i doing something wrong...if the dvd's are just extra sensative what can I do to stop this from happening?...p.s:sometghing that is also i think different about my playstation is that when I start it up there are a bunch of boxes instead of a few...Thanx for all of your help it has been really helpful thanx..

    the bottom surface shouldn't rub against anything while in the ps2, if done correctly

    you may not have the left side under the lip, or the lid is not closed all the way

    either that or it's being scratched when outside the playstation

    i've seen pads that you can add to the tray about $3
