Ill give u a runthrough on all of them

    Flip Top
Pros: Easy to install, Doesnt kill your warranty, Works with most back ups
Cons: Ugly, You have to swap

    Modchips:
Pros: No swapping, Doesnt effect exteranl look, Easy to use
Cons: Kills your warranty, Some are hard to install, Need to know how to Solder

    Swap Magic Disc/Card
    Pros: Same As Fliptop
Cons: Have to take off front cd tray clip which can brake and make it look ugly, Swapping

Those are the basic pros and cons for all of them

It depends really. Most people would agree that a mod chip is the best solution but many people use the swap method often because it's cheaper and there's minimal risk of damaging your PS2 that way. Mod chips are fairly difficult to install and a single, small mistake can ruin your machine.
