My SMD came with a ghost switch mod that i never intended using, but got it because it came with the SMd from the site i ordered it. I just figured it would do the straw mod, until something more reliable came around, however, using the straw mod requires me to have my ps2 lid open the whole time which is ridiculous and i dont want to do. What are those with SMD and slimlines doing out there to boot their backups?

I did the tape mod in November, never had a problem since.

I did the straw method for about a month and a bit with my ps2 open. I got a slimtool last week ($15 CAD delivery & tax included), and have been using that, basically the same as the straw, but you can have your console closed. There is also the fliptop that I've heard decent things about.
