For those with a 1080p vs 1080i sets

    my 1080i tv shows talladega nights with black bars on top and bottom. i havent played it in a 1080p tv yet, if you have a 1080p set did talladega nights have black bars on top and bottom? i have a 2005 tv set, and that kind of sucks that i paid top price and now 1080p comes out. can you really notice the picture? any advice will do. all the blu-ray discs ive watched had the black bars on top and bottom.

    You'll get the black bars even with a 1080p set. (I have a Sony 1080p SXRD BTW.) The reason for this is Talladega Nights - and a whole lot of other movies - are shot in 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Your typical widescreen HDTV is 16:9 or 1.78:1. Here's a good site that explains everything:
