formatting to NTFS help!

    i just purchased a wd 500 gb premium and before i do anything oi wanted to format it to NTFS format can someone please guide me through this many thanks!

    1. Turn off computer
    2. Unplug computer from power
    3. Open computer case
    4. Install the disk in computer
    5. Close computer case
    6. Plug computer into power
    7. Boot up computer
    8. Open "My Computer"
    9. Right click on new drive
    10. Choose Format
    11. Choose NTFS filesystem
    12. Click start
    13. Wait until format completes
    14. Use disk
